So we had the occasion to talk to a gentleman this weekend who had an intimate knowledge of the Pahvant Range. We had a long discussion about Jose DaVilla and
how he had helped Jose get the claims and also Jose had helped him put a motor in his old Willys jeep. There was lots of discussion about what was actually
done out there, who died, and why. But I digress...
As the discussion rolled along he mentioned an old Spanish mine up Pioneer Canyon that is locally called "Hells Hole". As he said it, its a timbered shaft about 100' deep. At the bottom of the shaft is a room that is large enough to turn a full team and wagon. About 12 feet tall and it shot off in 3 different directions or drifts that were caved in not more than 5-10 feet in.
So Im wondering if anyone has any more info about this or what it may or may not be.
Thanks guys!!
