I am a geocacher on Vancouver island in Canada.
My handle for geocaching is "Mushroom Doom" (don't ask)
I also compete in some GPS contests here for cash prizes.

Sometimes a contest here will involve positions outside of Canada where it is necessary for us to join forces with locals of these areas who can travel to those locations and retrieve information as a team effort in order to complete a contest. This happens to be one of those times...
