I spent several years getting little bits of information on a group of men who had gone into the Uintahs to find a hidden treasure. They must of had a map because they seemed to know where to look and what they were looking for. The story is a long one, but, suffice it to say, they found what they were looking for, or at least, thought that they found what they were looking for. After I heard the initial story it took me nearly six years to finally meet one of these men face-to-face....

Has anyone else heard of rumors about a possible connection to the Aztec Treasure hoard and Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake? Seems to me I've heard it suggested that Antelope Island has some legends associated with it and the Aztec treasure but I haven't as yet uncovered any substantial information regarding the possibility. I'm curious if any of the readers live in, or have lived in Western Colorado, specifically the 4 corners region, and might be aware of rumors of Montezuma's Treasure in that region. Myo wn research has yeilded possible sites in the fololowing areas, although details are VERY slight:

Dove Creek, Dolores Co;
McElmo Creek, Montezuma City;
St. Charles River, Pueblo Co;

I have just finished reading the thread on Montezuma's Treasure and the enormnity of the cache make it sound alot like what Koyle said the angel showed him in the Dream Mine. Is it possible that the bounty is in various parts of utah, like Kanaab, with the main cache being the Dream Mine?

Of course the Dream Mine story could be total B.S., but don't the descriptions fit?

First let me state that I have not read any of the books on the Rhoades mine that were writen by Kerry Ross Boren.

From what I can gather he claims that the Lost Rhoades mine was originally an Aztec mine, that the Spanish used later on. Is this correct? I also think he claims to have been there too, is this correct? It seems kind of wild to me, and I was wondering what everyone else thought. From what I can find, he is in jail for murder and his reputation as a historian is...
