Hi all. New guy that's had some interest in the lost Rhoades mines for a few years after reading many of the popular books. Never got serious enough to go search for anything. A family member of mine overheard me talking with another family member, and gave me an old document he had been given back in the '80s. It appears to be a partnership agreement/offering from Gale Rhoades. It goes into some detail about locations of seven different mines. Interesting, but I'm not sure if...

Ok, Let's say you just found the Sacred Church Mine and the Carre (Digger pointed out that these are two different locations--hope this is more accurate Dan!). I don't want to start a religious debate, but what would you truly hope to find?

So whats the status of this? Seems ridiculously easy (too easy) to solve. I've got all the landmarks lined up and everything seems to match. Anyword on this one being found? I would hate to load up the horses and pack in for nothin. Granted it would be a beautifull trip and one could cover some ground in a couple of weeks up there but I would like to consolidate the search to good targets.

We've got the horses, base camp, detectors and Infrared camera ready to go......

Riley Canyon Shaft

Has anyone ever made it down the vertical shaft thats "supposedly" up Rileys? Does anyone know it's location?

I would love to descend that shaft and have the proper gear to do it.

I am very intrigued in the construction of that shaft and going down the verticals is like a time machine for me. I'm less interested in whats at the botom than I am in hitting the bottom. I spend my weekends now in mines I know are empty just because I love the exploration....

Tues Sept 4, 2007 took a look around the area where the road enters the N.F. Around where a side road on the W goes down to the river. (Where the Blue tipped marker is) Turned down that side Rd and parked next to a borrow pit or prospect hole or what ever that is about 20yrds W of the main Rd. dry fork canyon

I spent the whole weekend looking for clues up dry fork. we were actually looking for the CBR tree that is supposed to be up there somewhere. No luck. we did however find some interesting stuff. we found three seperate collapsed mine shafts not far from eachother. In the tailings of the larger mine there was lots of clear quarts and gray rocks. I dont know that much yet about the types of formations gold and silver form in. My impression is that this might have been an old silver mine....

Ok here is the thing I need A answer for, I was in a remote part of southern utah a while back I drove in as far as I could then put on a back pack and hiked for two hours then camped in the morning it was easter sunday, I was up before the sun, when the sun crested the ridge it shown thru a small arch onto a piller a giant maltise cross appeared at that time the rest of the piller was in shadow so it was realy bright. Here is a simply academic question, but how did the "Lost Rhoades Mine" become lost? In my readings I have focused on "where" it could be so I haven't paid attention to the question above, but today I began to wonder.
