			<description><![CDATA[ I was hiking up above mapleton today and found this. it looks like the door to an old oven, my first thought would be a smelter, but i dont want to jump to any
conclusions. there were a bunch of rocks in the area and it was flat, a few metal bands on the ground that look like a rim to old wooden wheels or something
that would hold a barrel together. any ideas of what this is, or how old it is. there is a design of a sort of star in the middle and it appears to fold down.

			<description><![CDATA[ Is this an old spanish mine? It&#39;s certainly not hard to get to, and has seen it&#39;s share of teenager parties and bonfires. I spotted what I believed was
a mine on the side of the mountain, and decided to hike to it one day. On the hike up, I came across a large smelter made out of mud and stone. The mine is a
steep hike above that. You can go in the mine a little ways before it&#39;s caved in. Just curious if this has a name, or if it&#39;s even an old mine at

			<description><![CDATA[ Years back I read a scripture the first time I read through the Book of Mormon and it&#39;s always stuck in the back of my mind as something worth noting. 
Keep in mind at the time I wasn&#39;t a Mormon, simply someone that was reading a book for the first time (at the time) and considering the meaning of what I

legal outcome of all the fake Spanish gold bars and gold buttons that supposedly came out of the Uintahs.  Last I heard they had supposedly caught 2 out of 3

			<description><![CDATA[ Our boys have been on us to take them on a mine hunt all sumer.  We usually dont do it because it&#39;s either a brutal hike or we just dont know what
we&#39;re geting into.  Had a friend who had been in this one before and it&#39;s not a bad walk so we hauled em in.  Didnt let them drop in the hole but they
got an education for sure.  Saw their first bat, watched their Dads repel into a dark gole and learned a little about old mining and minerals.  They had a
great time.

			<description><![CDATA[ Hey all, been lurkin for a while. I live in Weber County and me and a friend have been chasing old mines and caves a little this summer. Found the little ones
in Willard, chased the old silver mine in Mantua. Going down the big mine above Ogden this weekend. They say it&#39;s at least an 80 foot repel into the shaft.
Putting together plans for next year to chase the stuff in Weber and Box Elder. Anyone up for it let me know. We have tons of climbing gear as well. I know

			<title><![CDATA[ Nine Mile Canyon Trip ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Nine Mile Canyon is one of the coolest places I have ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes on.  There are literally hundreds of various ancient petroglyphs
written throughout the place.  I read about this place on the internet a few days ago &amp; decided to go check it out yesterday.  You have to drive down a
bumpy 40 mile long dirt road to get to it, but it sure is worth the trip.  Here are some pics of my favorites:

			<description><![CDATA[ went to southern Utah for thanksgiving and explored a bit, thought i'd share some pics.  In one place I found a little cave at the top of a hill, seemed to be a lookout spot. It had rocks piled up in front of it, and I found pottery shards inside it and arrowhead chips in the area. Unfortunately my camera shutter got sand in it and this is the only picture that sort of turned out *groans*.
